About torrent file sharing
« on: October 08, 2006, 08:33:50 pm »

If you don't like your current torrent (with errors), you may delete it and upload another Torrent.
All Torrent files submitted in iFilmConnection are all monitored and checked by the administrators.

Sharing files
To share a file using torrent file, a user can create  a .torrent file, a small file which contains:

* the address of a "tracker" server
* the filename, size, and the hash of each block in the file (which allows users to make sure they are downloading the real file)

The torrent file can then be distributed to other users/members, often via email or placed on a website. A Torrent client is then started as a "seed node", allowing other users to connect and proceed to downloading. When other users/members finish downloading the entire file, they can optionally "reseed" it (becoming an additional source for the file).

If all seeds are offline, the file may no longer be available for download, even if the torrent file is possessed or saved in your HD.    However, even if there are no seeds, as long as there is at least one distributed copy of the file then everyone can eventually get the complete file.

Downloading with Torrent is straightforward. Each person who wants to download the file first downloads the torrent and opens it in the Torrent client software. The torrent file tells the client the address of the tracker.

The torrent tracker has two functions:
*1. it organizes the downloaders of each file by telling each downloader who else is downloading that file.
*2. it displays information about the files it's tracking by acting as a simple webserver. The original tracker can display each file's name, info hash,  number of complete downloaders, and number of incomplete downloaders.

When i'm using Azurues, I used  "Force Start" option to  Force Seed.  Just to make it is shared to other torrent clients.
